Connecticut Posted July 14, 2007 Report Share Posted July 14, 2007 I am not totally sure of the spelling here, but can anyone tell me if "Acker's Pits" is still there? I lived on Stanley Ave and my brother and I used to walk to the Pits to play (completely against my Mother's wishes). We used to walk up and down Fairfield Ave until our clothes dried, but somehow she always knew where we had been. Can anyone update me? Stockton Heath Parish Council had the not so great idea of de silting it, so it was drained and work commenced, there was more silt than estimated, money has now run out, area all boarded up.
