Adam
Seems a shame that the passing of a major figure in 20th century jazz and popular music should go unnoticed here. Brubeck was not by any means the world's greatest pianist and his best known track, which brought him to the attention of a much wider audience, was certainly not the best of his work. But compared with some artists whose passing HAS been noted here, he was a giant. What's more, he seems to have lived the life of a family man, devoted to his wife and children and to have avoided the pitfalls of drink and drugs which others have fallen foul of. Not only that, he didn't write it either. A real innovator and I'm pleased to see he's included in your exclusive list of proper musos. RIP. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/chi-dave-brubeck-dead-20121205,0,7126256.column
