busby
Don't miss 'Millions', released on the 27th May. Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, directed by Danny Boyle (trainspotting) and starring Derren Nesbitt. Set in the North West, large parts were filmed in Widnes. Story of two boys who come across millions of pound thrown from a train, and only have days to spend it before the UK changes to the Euro. trojan
I actually saw them filming this in Widnes. It was supposed to be set at Christmas but actually filmed in the summer. The leaves were removed from trees to give the appearance of winter. I've been waiting for it to be released.

Fowler
Saw 'Millions' last night, very good film. Nice view of Fiddlers Ferry Power Station if there is such a thing. Ladies will love the sad bit near the end, get the hankies ready. Alex Etal as Damian was brilliant for someone so young.

busby
Debs, You must have been watching one of the earlier series of Merseybeat - filmed in Widnes. The later episodes were moved to Liverpool and the series deteriorated from then on.
