Be interesting to learn which side the Town supported? I've heard that we were a bit like the Italians, and supported whichever side was in Town! :D

I don't suppose they had much option being a 'border' town so to speak, neither true Lancastrians nor Cheshire men. :unsure:

Not sure how support for the two sides was distributed in the N/West? Parliament held London and the S/East and E/Anglia, with part of w/Yorkshire. The Royalists had Newcastle under the Earl, most of Wales with Lord Derby active around the N/West and Cornwall and the S/West under Hopkins(?); with the King at Nottingham. :unsure:
