:D Many of us today take the British countryside for granted with little thought for how it was created. Join Archaeologist & Historian James Balme as he takes a look at the modern day countryside and explains how our countryside took shape from what was once a natural landscape of forest and scrubland. James explains how the land was cleared many thousands of years ago creating open spaces for livestock and primitive crops.
