observer
These are the documents in which the political Parties make their promises if elected to power - only to be quickly forgotten, in the light of the practical realities and responsibilities of Government. So, what are we getting? Well, with a backdrop of a macro-economic crisis, we appear to be getting a collection of micro-measures written on the back of fag packets - close analysis of which, discloses a trip into the surreal: EG; Labour are promising to get rid of failing Police and NHS authorities, with those that are successfull (more boxes ticked) - so, if Cheshire Police are failing, along come Manchester Police to take them over - keep that up and we'll finish up with one state police force - clearly political expediency delivering an organisational dog's breakfast. The Tory gems, are to allow parents to set up their own schools and even buy out their own pubs - the logical conclusion of that route being that we all finish up teaching our own kids in our own homes, whilst downing a six pack! Then we have the LibDems, who not only wish to have an amnesty on over 1million ILLEGAL immigrants, but wish to bring even more in "to specific parts of the country" - talk about living in an ivory tower! Choice? What choice?
LymmParent
You have to be a parent to buy a pub? Seems an odd policy. I thought anyone could buy a pub. What's fertility got to do with it?
observer
perhaps the fertility is in your mind?!

You state that parents are to be allowed to buy pubs. If that's not what you meant, perhaps you ought to adjust your manifesto?

LymmParent
picky and pedantic, sign of a small mind! Losing the capacity to remember exactly what you wrote, sign of a lost mind.
observer
perhaps applying yourself to the subject matter rather than the semantics, would be asking too much.
