observer
Watched a chef on TV, make batter, using beer and flour, with a splash of soy sauce; anyone tried it?
Dizzy
No, the only home made batter I've ever made was so awful and tasteless I've never bothered again (pancakes come from a packet mix too). That sounds really good though Obs. How did he do it and what quantities of flour to beer ? I might actually try that
observer
Seems beer is used as it contains yeast; he used about a can full, with flour to thicken, plus a dash of soy. This is for fish of course; don't think you can use it for pancakes?
Lt Kije
Made it many times in my younger days, it's very good and very easy
