observer
The announcement that one's spouse won't be able to claim part of your state pension entitlement when your deceased, will start in 2016(?) - presume this won't be retrospective, in which case it won't be a short term saving? Lt Kije
Is it not, if they have never themselves paid in, and are not themselves British citizens. ie, A Filipino woman married to a British man, but living in the Philippines, will no longer be able to claim any of his pension benefits after he is dead, as can happen now. Nick Tessla
Is it not, if they have never themselves paid in, and are not themselves British citizens. ie, A Filipino woman married to a British man, but living in the Philippines, will no longer be able to claim any of his pension benefits after he is dead, as can happen now. The report I saw said it would also affect UK citizens living in the UK. The initial emphasis in reports on foreign spouses may have been a way to please certain "newspapers". observer
You really must stop diving in with both feet Kije: the new system will involve ALL spouses )at home or abroad), although with less marriages these days, I would imagine numbers are decreasing anyway.
