Jerry
1937 and May Whitty was terrific at age 72 in this stage play made into a film. The surprise for me was Robert Montgomery displaying acting talent I never suspected he had. This had to be his greatest role ever. In fact I inferred from his performance that he was a born Brit and stage actor trained. The play takes place in a small village near a cricket field. Such is the magic of dramatists -- when I looked it up on IMDB it says it was filmed in Redondo Beach, Calif., about 3 miles south of my house. I'm impressed.
