Cycling spectacular comes to Culcheth

FANS are gearing up to welcome cycling superstars Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish as they come through Culcheth next month.
The Tour of Britain, the UK’s biggest professional bicycle race, is coming to the village on Monday 10 September at around 1pm.
It’s your chance to see Bradley and Mark take on over 100 of the world’s top cyclists on your doorstep.
In this year’s event, cyclists will ride 850 miles over eight days travelling throughout England, Wales and Scotland. They will be passing through Culcheth as part of Stage 2 between Nottingham and Knowsley Safari Park.
Riders will contest an intermediate Yodel Sprint in Culcheth, outside Culcheth Community Primary School, where they will do battle for points towards the Yodel Sprints Jersey and vital bonus seconds for the overall classification.
Timings
The route come through Culcheth via Glazebrook and continues on through to Lowton
Cyclists are expected to pass through between 1.15pm and 1.45pm passing Culcheth Primary School on Warrington Road and then onto Common Lane.
Temporary traffic arrangements
Motorists should take note that access to the following roads maybe restricted during 12.30 and 2pm.
