Mimocuja
Hi, I am new to this site, so forgive the delay in this response. Jimmy Horne was my uncle, and he did run a band called Jimmy Horne and the Hornets, probably in the late 1950's. He was born around 1938ish, and was the only son in the Horne family. The Horne family ran a chip shop during WWII, next to the Cross Keys pub on Buttermarket st. My mother being the youngest (Pat Horne b. 1940). Their sisters were Rosa, Veronica, Rhoda, Joan and Margaret. Sadly, there is only Rhoda still with us. There was a story and picture published in the Warrington Guardian in relation to a US Burtonwood reunion with a guy called Bob Modrell. He courted Rosa ((I think), and my grandparents looked after him for a while I believe. Jimmy sadly passed about 10 years ago. Latterly, he played the organ at Tetleys club in Orford, and The Mersey pub, Mersey st. Those who knew him will remember his great sense of humour too! He is survived by his widow and son. hope this helps? mimocuja
