Lymm heritage trail
Lymm has a fascinating history. When was the Dam built and what did they slit at the Slitting Mill? The road past the church was called Penny Hill – why? And when did the railway arrive and where did it go? The answer to these questions and more can be found on this self-guided quiz trail as part of Lymm Festival 2012.
The full circular route is 3½ miles and takes in Lymm Dam, Slitten Gorge, the Trans Pennine Trail and the Bridgewater Canal, but you can do a shorter version if you don’t want to do the lot.
