algy
I know I go on about saving the buildings in Bridge Street, and most of the buildings are worth saving for future generations to appreciate, however thank goodness for the town council around 1900, as the street in that era looked pretty sorry for themselves, and with exceptions most of the buildings on right hand side looking down the street (second photo) were built from common brick with very little in the way of architectural merit. 1887. 1897. Thank's Francine, one of the councilors once said that he thought there were no buildings of architectural merit worth preserving in Bridge street, I say there are plenty in fact the majority of them are, the problem is they walk along without giving an upward glance if they did then they would see some lovely buildings!.
