sadako
Has anyone seen this film yet? I know it is out in the USA now, I can't wait to see it. The story is set before the world war II in Japan, where a young child is taken from her family and becomes a servant in a geisha house. From what I have seen the film looks so beautiful. Apparently the novel was translated into 32 languages!!! [ 12.01.2006, 14:20: Message edited by: sadako ]

Pedro
Some great scenery and filming but the storyline was disjointed - probably should have read the book first - still I found a great little cosy cinema - Knutsford - and they are getting recent releases these days - Brokeback Mountain this week - but don't go without booking. harmless loony
Not entirely true to the book but it's a beautiful film. I was ill the day I went to see it - but it was worth it.
