The Law Is On Their Side?

Chris Grayling, justice secretary, said the public should be in no doubt that the law is on their side if someone breaks into their home. Just a few weeks ago the government said that homeowners can use as much force as neccesary to prevent someone burgling their home.

So when a man in Gwent got a call from his mother saying that she was being burgled he called the police then raced round to his mother's house and caught and fought with the burgler. When the police arrived they arrested the man for assaulting the burgler and he subsequently spent 18 hours locked up before the CPS advised the police not to press charges against him.

Quite rightly the man told the arresting officer that the law stinks.:roll:
