Bazj Posted November 3, 2012 Report Share Posted November 3, 2012 Algy.... I have here in front of me a device which is basically a hard drive connector with a USB cable which powers it. Connect the loose hard drive, plug in the USB and 12v power pack and as Dizzy says; it turns it into an external hard drive. I also have a hot swappable unit that takes sata drives.... This first one does the older drives. It has an adapter that converts the larger connectors to the smaller ones for laptop drives. The second one is a SATA drive bay which takes both sizes of drives (laptops and normal drives.
