Not sure that people would be comfortable trying to get round their streets in the pitch black with yobboes all over the place. Main roads like motorways wouldn't be too bad. Davy51 Posted November 24, 2012 Report Share Posted November 24, 2012 Funnily enough, there was a programme on a couple of weeks ago about the Police Commissioners in our area advocating better street lighting whereas energy saving seems to be using reduced & curfewed street lighting to reduce costs for local authorities. This is already being done on motorways & trunk roads which is directly at odds with why a programme (although unfinished) was started in the 70's & after a major motorway pile up on Thelwall viaduct to illuminate these roads for safety reasons.On an urban level it looks like we may all soon be housebound as a result of poor street lighting .
