observer
Wouldn't make any difference; as I've said; the post is for a public whipping boy - no actual powers, no more money.

Dizzy
I wonder if they are avoiding us for some reason Lt. Â Still nothing here either. Three voting cards in our house which may well go to waste as why should we vote for people who cant be bothered to contact us in any way or form
asperity
Looks like I'm the only person in Warrington getting to vote then! Maybe I should go down to the bookies tomorrow and put all my money on my first choice (with a side bet on my second choice in case I cocked it up)
Bazj
Maybe a PCC could do this to ALL Mp's houses!! Â

Davy51
Well for the sake of seeing who the candidates were i went & voted.Interestingly, they were all linked to political parties.I thought the idea was that these jobs would be non political appointments so i voted for UKIP & the Get More Police on the Street Party. Can't help thinking the inclusion of a Joe or Josephine Soap would have been a good idea !

Cleopatra
Do any of you know who you voted for? I mean, did you vote for someone other than a name on a peice of paper? Did any of them call on you and introduce themselves and tell you a little something about themselves?

asperity
I got a pamphlet through the door saying who the candidates are along with a precis of what they want to do. Surprised to have been singled out, or maybe everyone else just put it straight into the blue bin as junk mail
Lt Kije
No not received anything from any one
boris1066
Not seen a soul Cleo. Â We had one canvasing pamphlet from an ex assistant police chief constable. So on that slender qualification he got our vote. Â Our Polling Station had been open for 6 hours when we cast our vote and we were only the 21st and 22nd people to do so. The gals behind the desk reckoned that it will be a miracle if 10% of the people eligible to vote do so. There should have been a minimum qualifying participation threshold for this election and it needs to have been a lot higher than the 10% which seems likely to have been achieved. Â I really don't see that another layer of beaurocracy, costing nationally about 4 million quid, will make a scrap of difference to the way we feel about policing. Peter T
It wouldn't surprise me if the turn-out was exceptionally low. Apart from the apathy of the candidates, neither the council nor the media have been highlighting the event. If it hadn't been mentioned on TV last night and on the news page, I wouldn't have remembered to vote.
Bill
The only thing that could have got me out to vote would have been if rules were in place to exclude members of political parties and for the candidates to have explained how they could do things better. Â Bill
Cleopatra
I am not surprised voting was low. First the position appears to be politically affiliated and then none of the candidates appear to have considered getting out there and becoming known to the people they expected to vote for them - quite apathetic really and does little to inspire the people that they would be any better in office. Such a pity that anyone voted at all. I know I wouldn't have done. Why should I vote to put a complete stranger I know nothing about into office? is my maxim. Peter T
The problem with not voting is that someone will be elected whether you vote or not. So at least by voting you can have some input into the outcome. They were NOT all linked to political parties.
