Is there such a thing? Can it be quantified? How long will the enthusiasm last? Apparently not that long - as the Government have now relaxed the standards for the provision of school's sportsfields. As for team GB costs - believe it cost us £1.5million for a medal in the boxing and £15million for the hockey medal!

I say keep boxing out of schools. It is one sport I do not beleive should be promoted. The damage it does to boxers in later life is incalculable. We see Muhammed Ali and the state he is now in and countless other ex-boxers off their rockers with damaged brains because of the constant punches to the head.

Lance Armstrong has been stripped of all of his medals due to drug taking..... supports my theory that anyone daft enough to shoe-horn themselves into a pair of lycra shorts must be taking something anyway....

Just back from Majorca and there were lycra boys cycling in 40 degree heat.... trouble was most were fatter than me so it obviously doesn't do much for the waistline!!!

:D
