Lt Kije
Who has a well oiled network Obs?
observer
The HR industry and the liberal luvvies - thought you might be involved?!
Lt Kije
So its your opiniun and not fact
observer
From Mrs Bliar down - a liberal luvve industry; and well paid too!
Lt Kije
In your very narrow opinion
Peter T
Define political fact.
Lt Kije
Normally Peter it the opposite of what Obs says, nice of you to drop the word political inn. The truth is Peter Obs has absolutely no idea if the liberal levies and the hr industry are making loads of money out of immigration, he has read it in the right wing press believed it and passed it on. Perhaps some proof would be nice?
Cleopatra
politcal inn? anyone want a beer?
Evil Sid
bit early for me, maybe later when I have finished work and only if there is no talk of politics
observer
Suggest Kije, you take your head out of the sand and look round: just as one example - tell us the costs in legal aid to the tax payer of the Abu Qatada case; then multiply that by the number of similar cases - then get back to me.
Lt Kije
You said it Obs, you back it up!!!
observer
Well Quatad's cost us over a £million todate for a start.
Lt Kije
That is our justice system
Bazj
That is our justice system that it may be but it shouldn't happen as the piece of filth shouldn't even be here..... The Human rights acts gives him more get out of jail free cards than a pallet load of monopoly games. Once the Home Secretary said he could be deported he should have been taken straight to Heathrow along with his benefits dependant offspring and slung on a flight out of here..... unfortunately he was allowed yet another appeal and yet more money into the pockets of the Human Rights lawyers
observer
.... and while they we're at it Baz; they could have taken the rest of the deportation dodgers with him, and saved us a bomb.
Lt Kije
Was that not due to a government cock up, last time round
observer
It was due to an obsession by the British beaurocracy to adhere to the letter of these agreements; Qatada and the rest of the deportee dodgers could have been quietly shipped out from RAF Brize Norton to their home countries; followed by a prepared apology when the press found out!
Lt Kije
So you are saying their is nothing wrong with the rules, just the way we British read them and then implement them
observer
Nope; when the HR conventions were drawn up after the war, the politicians were driven by the injustices that occured in that war. Little did they realise that their application in a future liberal luvvie world, would apply to criminals and terrorists rather than victims; and be misinterpreted by our liberal luvvies in the judicery. As perhaps the only Country that translates these laws and treaties literally, whilst others merely pay lip service to them; perhaps we should interpret them in a way that acts to our advantage, like the rest do?
Lt Kije
As I have said before ther countries do not seem to have the problem.
observer
Cos they ignore the letter of the rules.
Bazj
So you are saying their is nothing wrong with the rules, just the way we British read them and then implement them Kije.... if you are saying that the rules are right and that terrorists and murderers and christ knows how many other deportation dodgers (as obs calls them.... good phrase though) should have rights.... then you really are a liberal luvvie. Qatada and countless others should not be afforded the same human rights as European citizens because they are not European citizens; him and his like do not belong here, should not be here and should be taken out of the country and should not be allowed to hide behind these stupid criminals charters. He isn't European and should not be allowed to appeal to the European Courts
Cleopatra
And he isn't being allowed to appeal to the europeaan court. He's going through the british courts again now. Right, though, he shouldn't have been allowed to appeal to the european court and neither should he have been allowed to go through the british courts again. By now he should be languishing in a jail in Jordan (?)
Bazj
By now he should be hanging from a Jordanian gallows!!
Cleopatra
Possibly. But they don't use gallows in Jordan. It's 'down on your knees'. Whack! Head rolls on the ground, eyes blinking!
