algy
1904. Stockton Heath, laying new tram lines in London Road. 1904. The 'old' Mulberry Tree Inn. 1904. The Wilderspool tramway being extended across the bridge and into the village. 1905, May. The tramway is complete with the test run over the swing bridge taking place. The Village Square. 1906. 'The Square' 1906. The trap behind the horse is piled high with furniture, could this be the day of moving for the licensee and his family as this was the year the 'Old' Mull was demolished to make way for the 'New' Mull. This is obviously a cropped and enlarged section of the previous photo, can you spot the difference?. 1907. 21st Feb. This was the year that the 'New' Mullberry Tree Hotel was built, was the crowd gathering for it's opening?.. 1907. Stockton Heath Victoria Square with the Hall Cafe residing on what used to be known as 'Pigeon Bank'.. 1907. A closer view of the 'Hall' Cafe. A masterpiece of building by the masons and bricklayers. middlec
Great photos Algy. Absolutely marvelous. I love to see what places looked like then compared to now. Your 1904 photo of the tramlines being extended from across Wilderspool bridge up London Road is relevant, as I took a photo c.1980 from a similar angle and now one from 2012. What a difference over the years!

Tracey Bennett
I very often go onto Google streetview to compare 'than and now'. On the 1904 picture you mention there's a really nice cast iron porch/frontage to the building which has now vanished. Shame.
