TWO DIFFERENT DOCTORS' OFFICES

Boy, if this doesn't hit the nail on the head, I don't know what does!

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint?

Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment,

then waits a minimum of8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?.

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen.

Therefore only one treated on the NHS - the dog's treatment is paid for directly by the owner or by privately paid for health insurance.

(Wonder if Stallard is around - just to see if he wants to give the tea party's view on our National Health Service - or Marxist Inspired Death Service as some in that foul movement might say  )

This is the honest truth, not a fabrication. I went to my GP last Thursday and he found evidence of a hernia in my left groin. He referred me to the Internist surgeon's office and I saw Dr Mackan last Monday and I'm having the hernia repair surgery tomorrow. Exactly one week after diagnoses. What do you think I think of the NHS and 'Obamacare', the most stupid and bloated piece of legislation ever passed.

One general point, watching the six o'clock news every night, doesn't qualify anyone for a degree in world political science, just as reading the Sun every day doesn't make anyone an art expert.

I have 'LIVED', both systems, both politiacally and medically, which makes my credentials indisputable. My polital philosphy has me lounging in relative comfort, overdosing on sun and golf and good friends with every person I have ever employed. Unlike some philsophies which has SOME people scraping by, clinging to a cold wet rock in the North sea. My aplogizes to all other members of the forum, especially Obs, who I think has some class.

Flippin' heck Stallard one week is pretty impressive. Do you have to pay for that

My other half waited about 3 years before he had his hernia fixed (although he was in pain it was not life threatening stuff).

My dad waited quite a while too but got in at the private BUPA hospital much quicker although I'm not sure if he paid for it himself or if it was paid for by the NHS as they couldn't fit him in for ages.

Stallard... I hope you and your new little mesh part make a speedy recovery after you 'meet' tomorrow. Golf within a day maybe and if you hit your ball hard enough it might even come over here and hit Nick on the head
