wolfie
Remarkable story about a remarkable horse, and apart from one scene followed the book closely. Does bring a lump to your throat though.
harry hayes
Excellent - if very far fetched - film. Surprised with the ending after all I had read. Happy days

harry hayes
Not read a book for yonks due to eye difficulties. Papers and reviews, yes. Say no more to please those who have not yet seen the film - or read the book. Happy days
Dizzy
I think it's one that I will definately have to watch alone with a box of tissues at hand (if I pluck up the courage to watch it) as I was almost blubbering just watching the trailer
Cleopatra
Insha Allah, we will go to watch this film so untill after we do I shall avoid reading any more postings on thread - just in case someone gives away the ending. Better take a packet of tissues with me just in case, judging from the other posts.
fugtifino
Currently reading this with the fuglet. At the end of the last Morpurgo we read (Running Wild), we had to take turns for the last few pages since we were both blubbing too much. Wireboy
This is another film that is on my "must see" list. It looks like I have a fair few hours of entertainment coming up in the next week or so.

Bill
Watched it last night and enjoyed it. I don't remember reading the book but about ten mins before the end I realised I knew exactly how it was going to end although it wasn't quite the same. Well worth watching. Cleopatra
Dammit! Went to the cinema in City Stars while we were in Cairo for a few days and there it was - a big poster advertising War Horse but only as 'coming' and none of the staff we asked seemed to know when it would be shown! Dizzy
Algy and Gary... If I ever meet you rest assured that I have a big slap waiting for the pair of you. Actually thinking about that I did actually meet you once Gary, so maybe I should have slapped you then and there infront of all the kids, the vicars and other churchgoers. That could have been my one and only claim to local fame An opportunity missed is an opportunitly lost... unless you believe in karma of course
