I'll agree with you to a point SL; thought the emoticons gave an idea of the sentiment though?! :wink:

 

Emoticons may be used as a shield in the event of a poster intentionally meaning to offend and knowing full well that an individual or individuals reading said post will be offended and when the poster is called to account he/she merely states that offence was not intended as he/she had added the appropriate emoticon, no difference in my opinion from someone facing you and making an offensive remark whilst having a sarcastic smile on their face.

Ooops!!! looks like I have just made an offensive remark, perhaps I should have used emoticons! :oops::roll::D:lol: Heck! now which one should I have used :unsure:
