Sorry bill, Cleo's too smart for me today, she is correct, although at the time of the photo it was known as Pig Hill (they held a pig market there back in time, it was later to be called Town Hill and still is.I'm going to have to find a harder one!.

The section of 1890 map below shows the position of the pub in relation to Horsemarket street, interesting to note there were seven pubs shown on the map within a hundred yards or so of each other.

2. The Blue Bell.

3. The Big Horse Shoe.

4. The Little Horse Shoe.

5. The White Bull.

6. The Griffin Hotel.

7. The Boars Head.
