Shows what a waste of time that is then

Please explain in what way is it a waste of time?

It is about the occasion not the result.

Also a great team bonding session for the Warrington lads the week before the season kicks off.

In this instance the score is not important; the important thing is that the game takes place at all. The football game builds strong links and friendships between the two communities, and will hopefully prevent the terrible things that happened in 1993 from happening again.

Maybe a team from Madrid!?

I generally agree about having it as an Emirates Cup/Dublin SuperCup sort of thing, with maybe a team from the other side of Ireland competing (Forgot which side we are on about here...) because that generally goes with the main cause of the competition, and a Welsh/Scottish team to go in the other semi-final, to make it an even number. It means it isn't just Crewe getting beat yearly and it gives other teams a chance at the competition.

Nice to see Duffy and Thommo get on the score sheet :D

Just wondering, did anyone actually go apart from the squad?

is their any chance of expanding the peace cup make it four teams with semi and final maybe get a team from madrid and perhaps the republic of ireland and make it a real occasion

If you can find us a full-time event co-ordinator and someone with plenty of spare cash to help finance hosting all the teams!

While this is a nice event to have annually to maintain our links with Ireland, I don't think it should distract from the main job of trying to make the existing club more successful.

Perhaps when we have bigger crowds, play at a higher level and have more employees at the club we could look at expanding the tournament. :D

Do occasions deliver progress and end of season silverware and does "team bonding" equate to large intakes of alcholic beverages? fortunately/unfortunatley i've experienced both.

TheKnowledge71???? Sounds more like a lack of knowledge. Is this yet another "sour grapes" poster?

"Sour Grapes?"(Disillusioned) in what form?? try looking at it this way using the meaning of the word "Romanticism" which is the quality of seeing people, events and situations as more exciting and interesting than they really are which is also linked to the word "Idealism" which is the belief that a perfect life, situation, etc. can be achieved, even when this is not very likely

Knowledge yes, sour grapes (not cheerful; bad-tempered and unpleasant) no.

The "sour grapes" in response to your negative comment. Is it just a general observation or do you have an axe to grind?

Romanticism???? Only where females are concerned. With life and football, I am a realist who says it how it is.
