Dizzy
Is it my eyes or are the ladders wooden on the top of it ? Was the fire engine in the photo one that was originally owned and used by Crossfields at their site or was it one they acquired and put their own name on for display purposes ? Peter T
It was at VPX last summer, (Victoria Park). Don't know whether it will be there this year.
Bazj
Dizzy, the fire engine is the genuine one owned and operated by Crosfields. My dad was the Chauffeur there and somewhere I have a photo of me sat on the bonnet of the fire engine in the garage that nabber refers to in his post. The engine is owned by Cheshire fire brigade and is looked after by a chap called Barry who is based at Warrington Fire Station. I have to see him next week because I have a couple of chrome trim strips for the sides of the bonnet that he wants as the originals fell off!! Dizzy
Thanks for that Baz. It's a great looking fire engine and is a credit to the gent who now looks after it. You should find your old photo and upload it
