Mark Cavendish, the 26 year-old Manx sprint superstar, is earning himself and the Isle of Man publicity all around the world.

'Green Giant' is a headline repeated across many of the papers today as they hail his sprinters’ green jersey success in the Tour de France.

An elated Cavendish has been described by British cyclist David Millar as the 'greatest sprinter in cycling history'.

After claiming the 20th Tour de France stage win of his career on Sunday, BBC reporter Alan Jackson says the Isle of Man is very much on the map

What a fantastic achievement and he's not the first or the last great cyclist from th IOM - The BBC North West TV highlighted the many children who turn up at the International Stadium yesterday, they ranged from tiny tots to teens. They compete and train around the track on a regular bases and several of them are already Noth West Champions.
