wolfie Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Who said it was impossible to buy tickets on the day to watch Poo? A group of United fans not only bought tickets but unfurled a banner at yesterdays match with Spurs just as Poo fans started singing the YNWA dirge. They were later ejected Quote
Gary Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Glad they saw the sense of investing in a proper club - the most successful English Club in Europe Quote
wolfie Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 Well done to Swansea City in the Playoff final. Liverpool were counting on you to reach the Premier League so that they can play football in another country next season! Quote
Chris Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Glad they saw the sense of investing in a proper club - the most successful English Club in Europe Gary - and seemingly the only Club investing in English youth. Quote

wolfie Posted June 13, 2011 Author Report Posted June 13, 2011 Stats show that the number of English players fielded by each Premier League team in the season just ended are: Aston Villa and Newcastle 16, Sunderland, Blackpool and West Ham 13, Birmingham 12, Wolves 11, Bolton 10, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham 9, Fulham, Manchester City and Stoke 8, West Brom 7, Blackburn and Wigan 6, Chelsea 5 and Arsenal 4. However new rules for next season will require teams to have a minimum of 8 'home grown' players in their squad, so most teams will be investing in English Youth. Quote
P J Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 A player needn't be English to qualify as homegrown. Quote
Eagle Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 ........and a lot of them are usually "home grown" by a different club who sell them on. Quote
Peter T Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Didn't know that Arsenal had that many. No wonder Arsene is losing the plot. Does he know? Quote
