The trouble is, its us thats paying it

how so Kije? Barclays a great deal of their profits overseas and at least the country gets tax..... look at HSBC; they are talking about moving their head office to Hong kong..... if that happens; bang goes millions every year in corporation tax. If and when it happens, will you be celebrating having to pay more tax because the banks no longer have to pay UK taxes at all?

I take it Baz, you agree with the bonuses, Barclays along with the other banks were part of the problem, They are to big to fail so must be broken up. HSBC will move to Hong Kong this year or next to avoid paying tax, it stinks but unless we tackle the banks head on. They will continue to do what ever they want. :!:

The two big banks in question are Lloyds and RBS who aren't moving anywhere as far as I know. Barclays and HSBC sorted out their own problems without public money and, being international companies, can base themselves anywhere they like. If you don't like a particular bank don't deal with it, your choice :roll::roll:

I don't particularly agree with the bonuses Kije, but what can be done to stop them? bonuses are part of the culture of banking; just like you and me work for double time on a Sunday.... why do we work for double time on a Sunday? It is just another day these days in 24 hour Britain....

I suppose only paying 1% corporation tax on pre tax profits of 11.6 billion pounds in 2009 is sorting their own problems out.:roll:

Even liebor couldn't get them to pay any more and they were complicit in the mess that the country got into.....

In the ideal world, every business would pay its fair share, but until we get rid of the partys that support the banks and get down to a proper party which is for the people of the country it will never happen
