Yes but who is almost doubling the adult social care transport service charges here though

Yes labour made a mess of things but that is no excuse for the current local decision makers to try and make a few savings or increase their income from the this area ie vunerable and needy people.

I'm rather disgusted with them actually !!

There is a worldwide economic crisis, so how did 'Gormless Gordie' manage to be effective enough to cause that?

It's the 'big boys' in banking that have caused the mess ..... but they didn't 'run away' they are still sitting there, laughing at the plebs running around blaming each other whilst they are still collecting their big fat bonus cheques!

Where national politics are concerned they are all the same! so shouldn't we all be joining forces and booting the lot of them out?

Whatever, Diz is right, what is happening on a national level can be no excuse for what is currently being inflicted on us here in Warrington.

There are probably only 2 men and a handful of dedicated sheep driving the town on a course of destruction, but they are in 'safe seats' so the only way to get rid of them is to empty all the alliance chairs in the town hall!

Yes we know about the Banks, and the Bankers, and the US sub-prime mortgage market - the world was living on credit - and so was the UK (Labour) Government. Gordy had the opportunity to tighten regulation on the Banks, but in sucking up to the City, chose even lighter touch regulation. They ran up a deficit that was costing us one in every four pounds to service - SO yes Labour was a party to the fiasco, and now the binge is over, we've got the financial hangover. And yes, the Coalition are probably cutting too far too fast - but under any regime, belts would have to be tightened, and that dominoes down to Local Authorities too. And the supreme irony is, that after the pain, we'll get Labour again!

I can not blame labour for the recession simply because the sub prime mortgages, what i will blame labour for is the ?4 trillion debt (including pension liabilities). Labour, to gain votes does 2 things:-

1) employs a mass of people to work in the public sector.

2) encourages mass immigration as immigrants tend to vote towards the left.

Simply astonishing.

Brown was aware of the irresponsibility of "the City" and the dark financial clouds building on the horizon (or so he now claims), but failed to increase banking regulation at the opportune moment, in fact the opposite, by increasing the "light touch" policies originated under Thatcher. Not only that; but, like millions of credit card holders, proceeded on a "I want it, I want it now" spending binge using borrowed money, which ran up an historical national debt to the point of bancrupcy.

That will account for Labours vote changing from 13m in 1950 to 10m in 2001 and 9m in 2005 then :roll:

Not really,

the indiginous population couldn't be bothered so the immigrants made up the numbers....

Think you'll find that many were detered from registering to vote by the poll tax; the "illegal" immigrants won't be registered anyway; and large swathes of the great unwashed probably don't see any point in voting anyway (and maybe they have a point!). If they did vote, they would tend to vote Labour, which is allegedley the reason the last Gov wished to encourage immigration and voter registration. Likewise, it would be interesting to see which way the prison population would vote, assuming they are actually interested in voting, rather than claining the compen for not being allowed to?!
