Dizzy
All our council tax bills are going up again this year by 4.7% to plug WBC's ?134m budget black hole.
Peter T
I was wondering about that farce a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the info. Has the jobsworth who thought of the idea been transferred to somewhere less costly? That money would have run one of our closed Community Centres for twoyears. warringtoncouncil.is good
This council is a joke. We need to stand up and express our anger You can still mail all the councilor from www.warringtoncouncil.youdontcare.com Is it possible that WWW could do an on line vote asking " is the council value for money "

Thats partly how it got it's 4* rating.
Dizzy
That was the Audit Commission's rating based on box ticking and is not necessarily the view of the people of Warrington
warringtoncouncil.is good
True It's a number of auditors that assess what the council wants them to see. Robbo
But surely it's boxes ticked compared with residents feedback. The fact that 53% of Warrington residents have stated they are satisfied with the council and that Transport and traffic congestion was the No1 priority with Crime at No2 shows that it is the public that set the guidelines and it's how the council responds to that in order to get the necessary star rating. Well they've sure made a mess of traffic congestion and crime, so objective achieved?
Robbo
But you are confirming exactly what the other residents did in highlighting Traffic congestion and Crime as a problem, not an objective.

little fella
Just about everything about this council is disgusting. It is not just the councillors of the town because they are just the puppets of the heads of departments. It is these employed head council people who are wasting all the money on stupid idea's. They are the ones who want a kick in the pants. We see it time and time again not just this Ferris wheel, its been the traffic management system, Planning department, Housing department, Social services, Education. Town centre development, Town Hall hospitalities, Councillors working holidays, expenses. Every person has a different idea on value for money; it depends on a couple of factors. Is it your money and can you afford to lose it. Now with this council, like most others it is not their money any body can go out with a blank cheque and get what they want. Ask a councillor for ?5 and it means nothing at all ask the average pensioner for ?5 and it is a big deal. So value for money, in my eyes they do not produce value for money far from it and they are very good at wasting money because when its gone they just demand more and we have to provide regardless. KeithR
Well said indeed, so just how did they get a 4 star rating, and why did more than 50% of residents say they were very happy with the council

wolfie
Dismayed, calm down it's only a forum. If only 20 people fill the forms in whose fault is that, certainly not that of the 20 people. Like any ballot you get what you deserve. Lack of interest, non voters, lost forms - it's all the same. The fact that only 20 people bothered to vote means that their views were taken into consideration and the other 199,980 were ignored.
