observer
Seems there's a law against Vets prescribing homoeopathic medicines for animals - BUT - no such law exists to protect humans from such quackery!
inky pete
But then, pets are actively bred to enhance their species. Us humans have to rely on natural selection - so I'd say, the more opportunities for the gullible and stupid to remove themselves from the gene pool, the better! Dizzy
Why have vets been banned Obs? Is it because of the cost and that there is no proof that homeopathic treatments actually work? I suppose too with an aminal you can't ask if it's feeling better since starting on alternative medicine or if they are suffering any side effects. Many people think alternative medicines are very safe and natural but they can be really bad for you As for us humans the NHS is Scotland has recently banned funding for homeopathic treatment because there is no evidence that such remedies work. Must admit though I tried homeopathic remedies for my hay fever and they really worked although you do have to start taking them months before the hay fever season for them to get into your sytem and work

observer
Presume any "drug" should have to undergo medical trials etc and be proven to be safe and work; before being allowed as "a medicine".
