observer Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 Not sure whether it could be coincidence, BUT during the various ice ages, when sea levels were much lower; I believe the Mediterrainian sea wasn't there, so it would be possible to walk from Africa to Crete. observer Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 Apparently, there were (at one time) in effect, natural dams at the straights of Gibraltar and at the Dardanelles; as sea levels rose and erosion collapse these natural barriers, in came the sea.
