algy Posted November 28, 2010 Report Share Posted November 28, 2010 They don't make em! like this any more, I watched Tunes of Glory last night with Alec Guiness, John Mills, Dennis Price etc., what an entertaining film and excellent acting, those were the days when the film makers and studios turned out quality films and not relying on computerised special effects. I recall seeing this Scottish regimental story 3 or 4 decades ago. First time I'd seen John Mills in a kilt. It reinforced in me a quote by Michael Caine. British military films are about OFFICERS - I like the American war films that feature enlisted men. (He had been enlisted in the real life 1950-1953 Korean War.
