Guess that says a lot. Lt Kije Posted November 4, 2010 Report Share Posted November 4, 2010 Its just not worth it Baz, The working time directive is very good, Why do people in the UK work longer hours than most other European Countries and are less productive, Is it because they are lazy or is it lack of investment by Company owners on new machinery, Why is it easier to make someone redundant in the UK than any where else in Europe, If we had the full Workers rights over here that they have in the rest of Europe it would not happen, but the Tories bailed out on that bit, And because they did, when multi nationals are after off loading staff its always the UK that gets it as its cheaper to lose staff over here. I don't like the idea of being in Europe regardless of whether we are a minority or not. As it stands, it's just become a mechanism for leeching prosperity and wealth from the productive countries to the bone idle ones, whilst at the same time giving increasing amounts of the decision making power to unelected pro-statusquo gravy-trainers. The EU is a collection disparate States all with "interests" - THEIR "interests" - and every poverty stricken backwood State is lining up to get a piece of the hand out money, provided by the 3 NET payers. As for "majorities" I thought "a majority" of the French, Dutch and Irish voted against the Lisbon Treaty; the Irish effectively vetoing it, until the Brussels Mandarins made then vote again. They identify 5% errors in Regional Aid Budgets and the CAP, both dispersed through member states - presumably due to corrupt practises. UK taxpayers will be facing a 600million hike in contributions next year; and our donation to the ?60billion bale out fund of ?6billion, possibly being used to bale out Greece and Ireland.
