observer
Seems in these times of austerity, the coalition are to scrap 180 Quangos - about time? All those unelected, invisible appointees on nice little earners at the tax payers expense - seems the game is now up for them?!

wahl
not only quangos nobody should be able to be on the board of more than one organisation this should stop the merry go round of useless directors working for more than one company. RENT-A-GOAT
Good to see the Equality & Human Rights commission is also going. They have done very little apart from justify its existence by creating layers of unnecessary red tape and bull s*** because they they are superfluous to requirements. Sue Durnim
Listening to a news item on radio 4 recently about the quangos being reduced, it seems that it is only a news headline grabbing opportunity. What will probably happen is that most of the quangos will be merged and renamed. The only jobs to go will be those in admin' that will be duplicated, the CEO?s etc will remain on there high salaries and bonuses.
