observer
Seems the chief of RyanAir want's to do away with co-pilots and (wait for it!) - have a suitably trained stewardess tasked with ermergency landings if the pilot dies at the controls - yer couldn't make it up! disgusted
While it's a banana of a scheme, and while Ryanair no doubt make a ton of money, considering they churn out the cheapest flights out there, your thread title is a little harsh on them. observer
It's symptomatic of the attitude of many private sector bosses, where slashing prices whilst maintaining profits, leads to such corner cutting - cheap gets cheap, and safety is an inconvienience. asperity
The airlines don't decide how many qualified pilots they need on a flight This is subject to International Regulation. asperity
DOH!!!!! You aren't listening are you Obs. Safety issues such as the number of pilots that planes are to carry are NOT left to the whims of the airlines. There are international regulations that govern these matters. The guy was keeping Ryanair's name on the front pages of the gullible press so that gullible readers (look in the mirror) would notice the name. FREE PUBLICITY!!!!!
