observer
Seems the promised referendum on AV voting, promised in the Labour Manifesto, but not by the Tories of LibDems; now sees the Labour Party opposing it. The reason being, that the bill includes a reformation of constituency boundaries to provide more equalisation of population sizes. Labour see this as gerrymandering, and point to around 3 million folk in Labour areas that arn't on the electoral register (possibly most of the immigrants they deliberately allowed in, to weight their vote!?). Well excuse me, but who's just been in power for 13 years, and why havn't they done something about it? So, we're going to have AV opposed by Labour and Tories, and supported by the LibDems as their life belt from political oblivion!
Lt Kije
It certainly is not the Labour parties finest hour
observer
Expediency and self preservation: the current boundaries give Labour a built in majority - normally; obviously the Tories want that reversed. AV is essential to the continued existence of the LibDems, especially after this broke back partnership with the Tories!
