observer
As North and South Korea square up for a re-match of the last Korean War; anyone up for it?
Sue Durnim
What would it achieve, both countries have a lot to lose and nothing gain? China seems to be distancing them selves and should have a greater influence on solving the matter.
harry hayes
Not me - I fought in the last one. North Korea is third world apart from it's military. Needed Chinese help last time, but didn't have nuclear weapons then. Happy days
observer
Well summarised H, from one who obviously knows - reminds me of the diplomatic dominoe effect that caused WW1 - NK now has nukes and is daft enough to use them; the Yanks will probably have to back SK in kind, meaning China might do the same - scary. Mary
Add Israel and Palestine heating up again , stir in a little Afghanistan, Pakistan and India and shake. I wonder if the Mayan calendar was right after all?
wolfie
The Mayan Calendar has always been about the journey, not the destination. The Maya do not promote the end of the world.
observer
With NK embarrassing the Chinese in the far East; we've now got Israel embarrassing the Yanks in the M/East!
Mary
The Mayan Calendar was said as tongue in cheek - I keep forgetting that tongue in cheek does not communicate well in print as it does in person. There does seem to be a lot of unrest - but they they said that 70 years ago as well. I am surprised we have not blown each other up by now - instead we are killing each other slowly (chemically that is).
observer
When does the Mayan Calender predict the end of the World? Cos they clearly got their dates wrong in the case of their own demise?
Legion
I'm up for it...anything that will give us another series of MASH has to be worth it.
