wolfie
Perhaps they spend too much time in TV studios where they pick and choose what questions they will answer and also have the answers ready. Correct again Peter. As proven when William Hague appeared last week at the Heath Business Park in Runcorn. Invited audience - set questions -prepared answers. LymmParent
LP. One does hope that the man who is "running" the country and who has his finger on the red button, to be somewhat better than that.If that is how politicians see the electorate, it is hardly surprising that apathy rules. Perhaps they spend too much time in TV studios where they pick and choose what questions they will answer and also have the answers ready. Better than human? Well, that'll take some work, Peter. He made a passing remark in a private conversation and expressed his private opinion on an individual he'd just spoken to. He has every right to think she was bigoted if he wants to. He didn't print it in the papers or shout it in her face - he was perfectly polite to her. If the media had as much courtesy, nobody would ever have known and she'd not have been upset. What's next? Sack him because he told his gardener he prefers French cooking?
Peter T
NO. Just SACK him for stealing the Pensions. It doesn't matter whether it was said privately or not. He shouldn't be out there talking to common folk with that attitude. I call it TWO-FACED. If that lights your candle ok, but I don't approve. observer
Well seems she's now getting some financial offers from the media, could make a film about it - it becomes more surreal the more it runs.
Egbert
He didn't print it in the papers or shout it in her face - he was perfectly polite to her. If the media had as much courtesy, nobody would ever have known and she'd not have been upset. Yes - but the media only print it (or broadcast it) because they know that's what people want. And if someone does make a film about it (which I doubt) it will bebecause they know people will go and see the film. We get the media we deserve. LymmParent
Apparently, she's decided not to vote at all. Clearly, despite Gordon's personal insults and her terrible upset, she still can't bring herself to endorse either of the others.... won't accept his apology, won't change her opinions, either the Labour Party realigns itself with her opinions or she's going home in a huffy. Bigoted? ooooh, perish the thought. Oxford English Dictionary: bigot /biggt/ noun a person who is prejudiced in their views and intolerant of the opinions of others. observer
She's probably off to do some shopping, with the ?250K she's allegedley received from the press for her story!
safeway56
I was shocked and horrified to learn that a politician talks one way in public and another in private. Say it aint so Joe. I personally wouldn't dream of buttering somebody up to their face and slagging them off behind their back........Much

Sounds like she would fit in well within the House of Commons The whole ongoing media coverage of this is all rather pathtic and for it to still be on the front page of the newspapers so often just shows that they have noting better to write about. Had to laugh today as Nick Clegg was scraping the barrel too on the TV spouting off at his ? utter disbelief that David Cameron had had the audacity to say in public what he he intends to do on Friday if he wins ....... Not much point in standing for election of you don't know what you are going to do when you are elected I'm sure Cleggyboy has plans on what he intends to do too but maybe he's keeping them close to his chest as a supprise for us all once elected.... or maybe he has no real plans at all
observer
Perhaps, with ?250K, she'll emigrate to Spain and become an ex-pat and moan about the Spanish not speaking English!
