Premier Cinema

I've brought up this subject again because of the news item a few days ago about the marijuana plants in the disused cinema in Powell St which I assume is the Premier. Does this mean the old building is still there? If so, whereabouts in Powell st is it? I can't find it on street view. All the buildings look new to me.

wondered if it is the building at the point where powell street turns almost 90 degrees. the building to the left of number 26 looks like it might have been a cinema once looking at the front of it.

I think you are right, Sid. My Dad used to take me there as a child and I remember it as being in a corner. I think the entrance part has gone, though.

 

Lynn, if you look right in the corner, you will see an older building right at the end. I think that was it.

I think you are both right. That's where I thought it was. Perhaps I should have a closer look.
