Gary
on winning the first silverware of the season. Great goal by super sub Rooney to win the contest. Just felt United should have played most of the game with 10 men when Vidic was the last defender when giving away the penalty early on. Can't believe he didn't even get a booking. wolfie
Rafael struggled against Agelbonbon?? Carrick couldn't hit a brick wall Vidic should have been sent off Our first goal was lucky but well hit by Owen but we still won Plus points, Rooney as usual, Ji Sung Park and Valencia. Peter T
Very generous of you Gary. Perhaps the ref. learned his game refereeing the likes of Warrington Town. Similar sort of decisions.
wolfie
It appears from further analysis and support from the refs committee that I was wrong and the ref was correct in not sending Vidic off.

Bazj
your source is obviously correct due to his past impeccable record.
Eagle
Analysis by the ex prat, sorry referee Graham Poll suggests that Phil Dowd made the correct decision because:- " For a player to be sent off for the denial of a goal scoring opportunity, his opponent must be heading towards goal; Agbonlahor had allowed the ball to fall behind him and had stopped to collect it. As a result he was not heading towards goal when Vidic pulled his shirt. Contrary to popular football myth, the fact that Vidic was "the last man" is irrelevant." I also think you were right Wolfie but is says in the paper that Vidic did not get sent off so who are we to argue.
wolfie
It also said in this mornings paper that Gerrard only got a yellow for a two footed lunge and a soldiers salute to the ref.
Eagle
It certainly wasn't a V for Victory.

Eagle
I note that the FA have failed to punish one of their co-captains, they have accepted Gerrard's explanation that one, he was suggesting to the ref that he had only made two tackles and that two, he was feffing off in disgust at himself. Image in World Cup year do you reckon or just the usual corrupt dealings of the suits and blazers?
