Eagle
I am having nothing to do with this importing of foreign food, I get all my fruit from Sainsburys.
asperity
Very wise, Eagle. Though it's probably cheaper in ASDA
Lt Kije
How much to transport a container from Warrington to London, even with economies of scale, ?100 from china to the UK Â eagle in Asda he's far to posh for ASDA
asperity
Obviously it's going to cost a lot more to transport ONE container from Warrington to London than from a UK port to a Chinese port because it would have to go by road transport, on its own. Container ships don't carry just ONE container, they carry thousands of them and hence the unit cost drops dramatically. Understand now or do I have to explain again in words of one syllable? Evil Sid
the more you can shift in one go the less you need to pay to shift it. Â does that explain it in word of one syllabus or less.

A recent report I read said that, due to the market collapse, some slots for containers on the UK/Far East trade are going for next to nothing just to fill the ships. LymmParent
I think it's LK himself subsidising our bananas, Asp. I think he controls the entire industry. He's decided to step out of the shadows and take the credit now and he's chosen this thread to announce that, in commercial fruit importing terms, he really IS bananas.....
