Should kids have a tipple?

Guess we can always count on simple Simon jumping in with both feet: newspapers Geoff are merely vehicles for gossip and opinion. But in your case, no doubt an upgrade from the Beano and Dandy! Eagle, perhaps you could explain how criticism can be positive - and while your at it, who the majority of binge drinkers are on holiday?

Obsever was this written whilst you were on the sauce?

You may be right about the red label journals that flash a bit of flesh and titillate you but I wouldn't describe others as being vehicles for gossip and opinion. Why not pop over the road and buy your namesake next Sunday morning, you might find a critique on the question of young drinkers with academic underpinning.

It is unusual of you to offer pertinant advice on a topic.

However seeing as you have a wealth of experience on drinking then making suggestions of tablets that you can buy from your local Co-op will be welcomed by the teens.

ALKA-SELTZER

Sales of this pain reliever have declined in the years since it was an ad-break staple promising a satisfying "plink, plink, fizz" followed by a clear head. The soluble tablets treat pain and neutralise excess stomach acid, but as they were designed to treat all manner of ills, they don't have a specific remit for hangovers. Nonetheless, the aspirin in the tablets works in your favour, as does the water it dissolves in. "The problem with many solutions is that they can be an irritant to the stomach," says Stillman. "I'd recommend aspirin products such as Alka-Seltzer because it won't cause these problems

Have you tried the Blackburn-based Phytofoods beverage called Hedstart, they claim that it

will detox the system and restore energy levels. Tim Lawson, the company's director, says he hit upon the invention, which combines various vitamins, amino acids and carbohydrates, while researching sports drinks. "We came across two soy extracts called phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylserine, which help alleviate liver damage and reduce stress to the brain caused by exercise," he says. "Hedstart combines these ingredients with the rehydrating properties of an electrolyte drink to quickly alleviate the symptoms of a hangover

I wonder if the youngsters having a tipple should also be mentored by their parents in how to get rid of a hangover?
