inky pete
Didn't Zimbabwe try a major programme of land re-distribution from the professional farmers to the "ordinary people"? How did that work out for them?

LymmParent
Didn't Zimbabwe try a major programme of land re-distribution from the professional farmers to the "ordinary people"? How did that work out for them? No, they murdered people and stole their land. Had they tried a civilised version, as I suggested, things would have been rather less upsetting all round. But there you go - blokes in charge again. They just can't be polite or reasonable, because their egos get in the way.
LymmParent
Now now guys, don't let reality get in the way of Utopia! Excuse me, when you've quite finished winking, I did ask where you got your statement that the UK is the third most densely populated country? Same place as all your other statements then? Eagle
UK is the 52nd in the list of World population densities and 5th in the European list. We would probably be a little higher if they actually knew how many people there actually were in the country.
Paul Kennedy
Now now guys, don't let reality get in the way of Utopia! Excuse me, when you've quite finished winking, I did ask where you got your statement that the UK is the third most densely populated country? Same place as all your other statements then? Depends on the definition, a place like Monaco is far more densely populated.....amazing what folk are prepared to put up with to avoid tax. Guess the population of the UK live in a relatively small area of the country rather than spread evenly across the country...not too many folk want to live on Saddleworth Moor, or the Scottish Highlands, Yorkshire Moors...or most of Wales etc

LymmParent
Perhaps Simon Cowell could be the immigration czar? Well, I quite like the idea of auditions to get in, but I think we'd have trouble with the public voting....
observer
Now there's one of your best ideas yet - a "public vote" on who gets in!
