karltt
From the whitby fc fans forum match preview for sat The Blues begin their FA Trophy campaign on Saturday when Unibond First Division North Warrington visit the Turnbull Ground, with ?2,300 on the line. Warrington, in one of two divisions immediately below Whitby's, defeated Sheffield FC from Division One South 5-2 in the preliminary round thanks to a Chris Gaghan hat-trick. Leading goalscorer Gaghan, previously with Barrow and Northwich Victoria, has nine goals from 14 outings so far this season. 'The Wire' also include former Burscough FA Cup hero Tony Evans, who netted in the Linnets' First Round upset over League One Gillingham, and ex-QPR and Prescot Cables veteran Karl Connolly in a dangerous looking forward line. The two sides have met twice before in 2003, when a 0-0 draw in Cheshire, was followed by a 2-1 win for the Blues thanks to goals from Craig Veart and Graham Williams in the FA Cup's second qualifying round. However, the draw is one result that looks unlikely this time around- Joey Dunn's men have yet to record one in nine league games- they lie in 14th place after four wins and five defeats. Warrington reached the Quarter Finals of the FA Trophy in 1992/93, losing 2-1 at Sutton United, who famously dumped Coventry City out of the FA Cup a couple of years earlier. The Blues made the last eight of the competition- which has a final at Wembley and is for clubs in the top four levels of non-League football- in 1983/84 when Dagenham ended Town's interest 3-0 in a replay at the Turnbull Ground. Whitby manager Harry Dunn is expecting Karl Charlton and Kevin Burgess to be back in contention after the pair missed out on Monday's draw at leaders Ashton, following knocks picked up in the win over Marine last Saturday. Dunn is also hoping long-term ankle injury victim Alex Gildea will play some part, and confirmed on-loan Leon Scott has been allowed to play in the Trophy by his club Harrogate Town. Kick-off at the Turnbull Ground is the usual 3.00pm, with any replay taking place at Warrington's Cantilever Park on Tuesday at 7.45pm.
