With the advent of a pedestrian phase at traffic lights, I've noticed a new phenomenon: we don't just have "amber gamblers" anymore, but Richard Heads going through on Red.

There are also the pedestrians crossing between market street cap park and time square who cross on red.

 

I was waiting close by on Saturday when there were a load of teenagers, about 50, being ushered out of time square following an incident at around 15:30. They didn't use the crossing but headed off towards bridge street.

 

Other car par users however just wandered across the road irrespective of the traffic lights.

 

Lets face it far too many people in Warrington just don't know how to use pedestrian lights when they are either in their vehicles or on foot.
