Peter T Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 What is wrong with this club and it's supporters? Don't they know that there is no magic wand that can be waved to be successful? It's not as if they are in the drop zone, they are mid-table(11th). They got rid of Bobby Robson after he took then to 3rd. They DON'T deserve a football team. Quote
Gary Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Don't think Big Sam will be too bothered with his multi million ? pay off and probably a new job before too long! Quote
Eagle Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Football management is second only to politics in the paying of obscene amounts of money for failure. Clubs that agree severence packages for failure deserve to fail. Quote
Matty Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 its not really failure, where did they think they would be, I will list 10 clubs that I think should aim to finish above Newcastle before the beginning of the season. Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Villa, Portsmouth, Blackburn & West Ham. Man City can now join that list. Only a complete idiot would take that job, or someone who wants one last pay day. Quote
Eagle Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Matty, I mean the failure of coming up to the aspirations of football owners/directors who expect instant transformations by their current choice of saviour. I am waiting for Shearer to answer the call and to see his transformation from hero to zero but I think he has enough sense to keep away. [ 10.01.2008, 16:05: Message edited by: Eagle ] Quote
James P Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I don't particularly like Sam, but to only give any manager 23 games at club who have not enjoyed anything like success for so long is stupid. Then again I think it somes the football club up when the owner is sat in the stands with his replica shirt on listening to the fans. I'm affraid this is the situation managers face now, you only have to look at Mourinho. Love hime of hate him, his record with Chelsea was unbelievable and he still got the sack. Quote
Tilly Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 This is all I've had to listen to today, unfortunately I sit opposite a bloke, one sits behind me and one is next to me and its all they've gone on about all day, what the odds are, who it should be, who it shoudn't be and if its not that its fantasy football Quote
Gary Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 It will be Harry Redknapp or someone else! Quote
Eagle Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 It will be Harry Redknapp or someone else! I have got to agree with that statement Gary, you must have some inside information. Quote
wolfie Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 I have it on good authority that it is someone else Quote
asperity Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 It's definitely somebody else because Rednapp has decided he's staying put (probably a wise decision!) Quote
wolfie Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Utd 6-0 Newcastle Just as well for Newcastle that United only started playing in the second half Quote
Peter T Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 I think Rio must be worried that he will get upstaged by his brother. Quote

Woody Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Well, I hear that Paul Moore turned the position down too, something about the Yellows having a better team and better fans Quote
Eagle Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 The return of the wimp, Fergie will be delighted. Quote
Gary Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Can't wait for Newcastle to beat Man United - I would really, really, really love that! Quote

Gary Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 They call him King Kev because that's what the Kop crowned him as part of the Liverpool team which was and still is the most successful team in the country. Quote

If he's still playing for the Poo, where will he get the time to manage Newcastle  Quote
JayC Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Keith. Keegan was a great player for Liverpool shame we don't have someone as good as him now, for a little fella he was a tough bugger and very skillful too. John Quote
wolfie Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 Originally posted by Gary: They call him King Kev because that's what the Kop crowned him Actually it was the Newcastle supporters that dubbed him King Kev at the end of his last stint at Newcastle about 11 years ago. I see he has made a difference to the team already Newcastle 0-0 Bolton. Quote
