Geoffrey Settle
The Harlequin's Coach, Dean Richards, has been banned from any involvement in the Heineken Cup for three years after being found guilty of organising the fabrication of a blood injury and a subsequent cover-up when he was director of rugby at Harlequins. This was the FOURTH time that this had been tried by the Rugby Union Club!!!! Former England forward Richards resigned earlier this month after an independent European Rugby Cup panel decided the team had staged an injury to winger Tom Williams (who left the pitch with gallons of blood streaming from his mouth and winking at the sub as he walked on) during their Heineken Cup quarter-final against Leinster in April. The reason to get their expert kicker on the pitch during the last few minutes of the match. You'd never see this happen in Rugby League would you? wolfie
For all the rule bending and cheating, Rugby Union got 2 1/2 pages in my Sunday paper this morning compared to 1/2 page on the RL Cup Final
